The individual activities within the project were as follows:

  • Evaluation of seismic adequacy of realized upgrades in existing electrical cabinets of Seismic Category 1a.
  • Evaluation of seismic adequacy of newly installed cables including the steel cable supporting structures.
  • Evaluation of seismic adequacy of relocated junction, measuring and transition boxes and their connected cables.
  • Anchorage of new switchgears for Diesel Generator Station lighting, of new lighting appliances including the connected cables.
  • Evaluation of seismic adequacy as well as of static strength of newly installed pipe branches.
  • Anchorage of connection boxes and new installation of load sensors for main hoists of the unit’s polar crane.
  • Evaluation of seismic adequacy of new aerosol and iodine samplers.
  • Evaluation of seismic adequacy of anchorage of new pump motors.

The total project level of effort was 2 500 man-hours.

All activities in the framework of the project were performed in accordance with the company’s quality policy. The seismic evaluations are performed using the indirect method GIP-VVER, the engineering judgment as well as by seismic calculations. At the same time, as the acceptance criteria, following standards were used: ČSN, IEEE, IEC, ASCE, NTD A.S.I., ETAG, EUROCODE 3, ASME BPVC and further relevant normative and technical documentation.
